Nothing says “welcome back!” like diving right into the syllabus of each class you’re taking.
And this class is no different! This Internet & Digital Revolution course looks to be quite unexpected but interesting.

456 Blog Posts??
We don’t actually have to create 456 posts, haha. We’ll be creating blog posts weekly! This gives us the opportunity to reflect on what we’ve learned and are learning in each class. No matter the topic of the post, we’ll be writing and defining our information in a way that makes sense for readers who may not know as much about the internet and technology. Throughout the semester, we’ll also be categorizing these blog posts according to the eight learning objectives of the course. By the end of the semester, each learning objective should have at least one post (though there will definitely be more!).

LLM…? What?
An LLM stands for Large Language Model (like our friendly neighborhood AI: ✨ChatGPT✨). They are incredibly helpful tools that can assist with what feels like an infinite number of tasks, like writing, editing, and even vacation planning! In this course, we’re encouraged to use LLMs because they’re great for grammar checks, punctuation fixes, and maybe even making your sentences sound better—but they shouldn’t be doing the heavy lifting. If you decide to use them, here’s what you should do:
- Give credit where it’s due.
- Show your prompts in the comments.
- Do some fact-checking (LLMs can get a bit creative…).
Think of it like this: LLMs can be your editor, but not the author of your masterpiece!

Why Kaleidoscope..?
You might be wondering why I named my website “Kaleidoscope.” Well, I consider “Kaleidoscope” my brand name. To break it down: “kale” was a nickname I was given in high school (which was very random—I don’t even eat kale). The second part is the symbolism behind a kaleidoscope. It represents the ever-changing, endless possibilities of life. Just like how each of us has unique patterns, we also change depending on the light or environment. I find myself to be pretty unique, and this felt like the perfect way to express that.

By the time we’re done, we should each have at least one blog post for every learning objective. So buckle up, because it’s going to be a creative, colorful, and maybe even chaotic journey through this digital wonderland.
